The first secret garden is somewhere in our hearts and minds. From here we find the things we love and what fits into our lives. Some would say that the Garden of Eden is the first, however, to understand that you need to find yourself. There are other gardens that come to mind, and they have been written in the history books and still exist.

In todays fast-paced world, people are taking less time to enjoy these places, and some are even being lost to time themselves. There is different meaning of what a garden is in other countries around the world. It comes to where you live and what you think a garden is, for me a garden is where you plant food and flowers. During the spring, summer and early fall there is the work of keeping it weeded and watered. As I said there are many meaning that fit for what a garden is.

Then there are the gardens of our minds. This is where we dream of better days and what we want in our life. The mental garden needs the same attention as the physical gardens. However, that work has to be constant because a negative thought is like a weed, and it can take over your personal garden and the way of your thinking.

When we grow, so does our minds. What thoughts we let into our mind are like seeds. Thus, if the thoughts are positive, that is what will grow and if they are negative, you will grow more of those thoughts. There is more that needs to be said for ourselves and that is to watch what thoughts are planted into our mental garden. We have to water it, which comes in the way of the types of people we are around, the kinds of employment that we do and of course the relationships that we have with our families and friends. These three things will either make your garden to grow in a positive way or stunt the growth because they are negative.

Once we take control of our life, we will then plant the right seeds that will grow to full maturity. As we water our physical garden, we are taking time to also water our mental garden because one is an extension of the other. This moment helps in all ways as if we are under stress, pulling that weed relieves tension and then watering the tomatoes helps to put a smile on our face.

The gardens that we plant now in our personal lives will grow and produce what we plant in it, both physically and mentally.

Stay safe.
