The Author's Corner: Days Gone By

As the sands of time pass through the hourglass of our lives, we are that much closer to our own end in this life. Every day that passes us by we assume that we will have another morning. Thus, all we have is this day in which we have woken up in, a positive thing in my mind. If we all could look at the new day as a blessing this world would be a better place.

Over our lives, we can see what has happened in the past as it is written in stone and can not be changed. Too many of us live in the past which causes us grief at the best of times. There are things that are shaping us in the days that have passed yet they will influence our future if we let them.

When we start to take in today, the past falls away and it gives us the freedom that helps with our life in a positive way. In many ways the fact that we only have today to live makes some people afraid to lead their lives. Some see today as a negative thing because all they see is the bad, these people complain about everything and play the victim. The reason why they complain can vary, however they live a life through that negative view.

Days gone by have come and gone throughout my life just as they have for you. We lived a different past, yet I do not compare what I have been through any worse than what you have lived. We have both survived and we are still here today. This may be the first time you have read my work, or you could be rereading it for the second time.

Each of us face the world one day at a time and the people who are in our lives today may not be with us tomorrow. We never know when our time is up in this physical world and by the way we will leave it. The question is, “Is this world the afterlife and do we just do not realize it?” I feel that it is on the path that we must go down before we are in our own heavens.

There have been times when we have seen true horror of the worse of mankind. Even as I sit here and write this in October of 2025 there is the chance of World War Three. We move from that possibility to what really matters in our lives as we walk away from all media, then we can focus on our own lives by living for today.

In time we will see through this life and onto the next one where we hold the pen to our lives. We have been given that right to live our own way because what we do in our life echoes throughout our days to come. The path is there in which God/the Creator has laid for you to follow and you have been given forks in the journey of life where we get to make the decision that will affect your path in this life and the next.
