The Author's Corner: Judgement Day

What is judgment day? We will all face it someday as where we will pass from this physical world. We will all have to explain ourselves to God/the Creator and the reason why we did what we did in our life that we were granted. There is no way around it, we will all be judged.
In our daily lives we pass judgment on our fellow colleagues, friends and family. Most times we do it without noticing that we are. Thus, in saying that we are also being judged by others. The things we are judged on varies from the simple things like our cloths we are wearing all the way to the career we are in.
As we move through our lives, this judging of others will cause problems in our relationships. The reason for this is because most, if not all, people do not like being asked to explain why they have chosen the path they are on or why they do what they do. These things can be avoided by just not going into the judging process and allowing people to be themselves. As they say, “If you judge someone be prepared to receive judgment as well.” Another thing that goes well with this saying is that karma will always come back to you. In simple wording, what goes around comes around.
For most people it happens from the early parts of their lives when they are in the family home. The us and them judgment comes from this family unit. Where it starts in the home, we should be teaching the youth not to pass judgment on others as they have their own reasons of why they do things their way.
I know that I was judged a lot of the time and until I woke up, so to say, I was passing judgment on others. It took many years of reflection on my own life to realize that by judging someone I am only limiting my understanding of someone else’s life. In changing my way of thinking towards others, my way of life has changed in a positive way and I have an open mind to those who see things different. In a way it has given me the opportunity to learn from others.
The lessons that we can learn from other people is a great thing because we can share our own experiences to show a different point of view. Once we drop the judging, in that is where true friendship and much less all relationships will grow into a greater understanding of each other. It could be a loved one who has struggled through life with addiction issues who you have always judged. By taking the time to see that person in a nonjudgmental way we could be the help they need. That is just an example, however taking the judgment out of the equation, real healing of the relationship will take place.
It takes a strong mind not to judge however everyone is all able to do it if they want. Remember if you judge a person be prepared for the same from others.
Stay safe.
